Audrey Tautou

Audrey Tautou, the oldest of her four siblings, was born on 8 August 1976 in Beaumont Puy-de-Domme. Her parents were dentists as well as a teacher recognized and supported her love of theater and acting at an early age, which overcame her initial ambition to become a primatologist thanks to her love of monkeys. There was an immediate rise for her to become a famous young actor. She became the face for L'Oreal Mont Blanc Chanel, and is often referred to as The Chanel Muse. Alongside her acting career she also has an interest in photography. Recently, she exhibited a selection of her photographs in the Arles Film Festival with the name Superficial. Her photographs are largely about fame and celebrity. Audrey Tautou's worldwide recognition and popularity exploded after her appearance in the film as Amelie Poulain's leading woman in Le Fabuleux d'Amelie Poulain. Amelie was a box-office international success, and received accolades at award ceremonies around all over the world. It's the highest-grossing French film made in America. The film's success has led to Tautou being cast in a range of roles, from British dramas like Dirty Pretty Things by Stephen Knight and Jean Pierre Jeunet to Hollywood's The Da Vinci Code with Tom Hanks.
